Wisdom Tooth Removal / Oral Surgery
Some dental procedures require surgery to remove either teeth or infection within the jaw itself.
Wisdom teeth are the most common tooth to require surgical removal as often there is not enough room for these teeth to come through and they become wedged or ” impacted”. This can also occur for other teeth. Impacted teeth can cause pain, infection, crowding, cysts, or damage to nearby teeth and removal is the only option.
Removal of impacted teeth is a very routine procedure here at Dental Elegance. If the removal is straightforward it can be carried out within our clinic using local anaesthetic sometimes with inhalation or oral sedation. More advanced procedures are carried out under general anaesthetic at St. Andrews Hospital day surgery.
Despite the many problems associated with impacted teeth, they can often be painless. Don’t be caught out, book your wisdom tooth assessment today!
